Sam Nightingale is an artist and researcher working in environmental media. He uses experimental forms of photography and speculative fieldwork to explore ‘spectral ecologies’, the geopolitical (and geopoetic) interface between history, ecology and the image. His practice is research-based, focusing on specific locations and their seemingly invisible histories. He has recently co-edited the book, Fieldwork for Future Ecologies: Radical Practice for Art and Art-Based Research with Bridget Crone and Polly Stanton.
